Residence Reality & Continuity Review
Understanding the residence before determining what should happen next.
Private Clients
Private ownership requires more than individual expertise. It requires coherent decisions.
Private ownership brings decisions that connect property, family interests, professional advice and continuing responsibility. The Firm helps owners understand the position, consider the alternatives and organise the work required for the agreed course.
A matter may begin with a residence or another significant privately held asset. It may involve several family members, advisers or jurisdictions. The engagement begins by establishing what the owner needs to decide, what information is available and who should carry each responsibility.
Some matters require a defined assignment. Others benefit from a continuing relationship. Where a continuing mandate is agreed, the Firm remains involved through periodic reviews, coordination of specialist work and a maintained record of responsibilities, decisions and next steps.
Each continuing mandate defines its scope, reporting arrangements, remuneration and the circumstances requiring a further instruction. The client retains the decisions belonging to them, and appointed professionals remain responsible for their specialist work.
You do not need to have decided to sell.
The present position
An owner may be considering keeping, adapting, transferring, selling, acquiring, refinancing or otherwise reorganising the capital held within a residence, restructuring ownership, or doing nothing for the time being. Each is a legitimate position, and the Firm is able to act on any of them.
A mandate does not begin with an assumed outcome. It begins with an agreed brief and an honest account of what is known, what is assumed and what remains unresolved.
Decision, architecture, execution
The Firm helps private clients determine the appropriate course concerning residences and other significant privately held assets. Where a sale, acquisition, transfer, refinancing or other transaction follows, the Firm establishes the execution architecture and coordinates the professional capabilities required. Brokerage, legal, tax, financing and technical responsibilities remain with the appropriately qualified or authorised parties appointed to perform them.
What the practice attends to
Residential work may involve the following six responsibilities.
Understanding the residence before determining what should happen next.
Identifying and securing a residence that corresponds with the principal, the place and the intended next chapter.
Preparing a residence for its next ownership and determining how, when and to whom it should be introduced.
Coordinating the passage from one residence and life setting into the next.
Making an existing residence capable of carrying its next chapter.
Determining what should accompany the family, remain with the residence or pass into another form of custody.
A principal is not required to know which responsibility applies. The conversation establishes that.
How the practice works
The Private Clients practice follows the Firm's standard across eight stages — from understanding the situation through to defining what, if anything, remains after completion. The sequence is disciplined; the pace is set by the family, not by a market calendar.
What the Residence Carries
A short film on what a residence holds beyond its walls — belonging, obligation and continuity. It belongs to this practice.
Appointed professionals
The Firm coordinates only the responsibilities entrusted to it. Where a matter requires reserved or specialist legal, tax, valuation, financing or technical work, the appropriately qualified or authorised professional remains responsible for that work and for its conclusions.
Business ownership and transaction assignments are undertaken through Business & Real Assets. The relevant responsibilities are established within the Firm for each engagement.
Private access
Private access is granted for the relevant mandate. Access to one matter does not grant access to another.
